Jabiru and West Arnhem residents were pleased to hear that the NT Government has released the design tender for the new Jabiru Health Centre.

Once operational, the new Health Centre will provide residents and visitors with greater access to medical support in a centralised location.

With construction set to begin by the end of 2021, this crucial piece of infrastructure will include an ambulance bay, consultation rooms, dental services, hearing care, x-ray facilities and a morgue.

In addition, the inclusion of a four-chair renal unit in the design will offer accessible dialysis services for patients in the West Arnhem Region.

The Health Centre is expected to improve government services in Jabiru and further support tourism in the region by positioning Jabiru on the map for foreign and domestic tourists.

Marinella Faggion, CEO of Jabiru Kabolkmakmen Ltd, is pleased with the project’s progression and highlighted the new renal facilities as a win for the region.

“Jabiru Kabolkmakmen welcomes the inclusion of a four-chair renal unit in the new Jabiru Health Centre.

The Health Centre will serve as an important part of the West Arnhem community and support the transition of Jabiru from a mining-based economy to an indigenous led tourism and government services hub.”

The design tender will close on 27 January, with the design finalised by 30 June 2021.
