The Northern Territory Government has awarded local business Platt Architects the tender to design Jabiru’s new Health Centre.

The health centre will be an important piece of infrastructure in Jabiru’s future that will include an ambulance bay, consultation rooms, dental services, hearing care, x-ray facilities, a morgue and a four-chair renal unit that will offer renal dialysis services for patients in the West Arnhem region.

With final design work to be completed by June, construction is due to commence before the end of 2021.

The Health Centre is expected to improve government services in Jabiru and further support tourism in the region by positioning Jabiru on the map as a safe and well serviced destination for foreign and domestic tourists.

Marinella Faggion, CEO of Jabiru Kabolkmakmen Ltd, was pleased to hear that the project is progressing on schedule.

“The Jabiru Health centre will serve as an important part of the Jabiru and West Arnhem community,” she said.

“Jabiru Kabolkmakmen welcomes the inclusion of a four-chair renal unit as part of the design brief that has been included in response to requests from the community.”
